Lugene Polk is the founder and executive director of Hearts of Appalachia Project, Inc. Raised in a family of public servants, she learned early that helping others was not simply encouraged but woven into everyday life. That lifelong commitment to service has shaped every organization, outreach program, and creative project she has led throughout her career.
