Contributor Agreement

As a contributor to Hearts of Appalachia Project, Inc. (HOA), you may provide written content, photographs, videos, interviews, research, historical information, community resources, or other materials for HOA projects and programs.

Original Work & Permission

You confirm that material you provide is your original work, or that you have permission or the legal right to share it with HOA.

Ownership

You retain ownership and copyright of your original work unless otherwise agreed to in writing.

Permission to Use

You give Hearts of Appalachia Project, Inc. permission to publish, reproduce, display, promote, share, and archive materials you contribute for use in HOA programs, publications, websites, social media, videos, educational materials, and related projects.

First Publication Rights

Material created specifically for Hearts of Appalachia Project, Inc. will be provided to HOA for first publication or release. After HOA publishes or releases the material, you may republish or use your original work elsewhere, with Hearts of Appalachia Project, Inc. credited as the original publisher when appropriate.

Editing

HOA may make reasonable edits for spelling, grammar, formatting, length, clarity, or presentation while respecting the original meaning of the work.

Compensation

Contributions are voluntary and unpaid unless compensation has been agreed upon in writing in advance.

Acceptance of Material

HOA reserves the right to determine whether submitted material is appropriate for its mission, programs, and publications.

By accepting this agreement, you confirm that you have read, understand, and agree to these Contributor Terms.
