Are you from Appalachia with a favorite family recipe that’s been passed down through the years?

We’d love to include it in our upcoming Appalachian Community Cookbook, both in print and online. We’re gathering recipes from across the mountains — West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and North Carolina — to celebrate the dishes that have filled Appalachian kitchens for generations.

Maybe it’s your grandmother’s cornbread, biscuits made before sunrise, or a dessert that only showed up at church suppers and family reunions. Every recipe carries a memory.

So pull out those old recipe cards and share a taste of your family’s table with us. Together, we can preserve the flavors and stories of Appalachia.
